Monroeville mall is a super regional, two-storey, 1.3 million square feet enclosed shopping centre located in the municipality of Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The mall is owned and managed by CBL&Associates Properties, Inc. The mall was purchased by the contemporary owner for 231.3 million dollars in 2004. The mall was opened in 1969 with 125 stores on two levels and 6,500 parking places. It was one of the first and the largest indoor chopping malls in the country. You could find here Monroeville Mall Ice Palace, an ice skating rink. The mall has changed with the times. In 1984, much to the dismay of local citizen, the Ice Palace Was replaced by a new food court. In 1977, the mall became a filming location for the famous movie Dawn of the Dead. The mall started the recent renovation, which is expects to cost several million dollars, in March 2015. The renovations will include a refurbished food court, refreshion the inerior, new lighting and new restroom finishes. The last renovation was in 2003.
