Sure, every child from an early age knows that the day after Thanksgiving all shopping centers across the United States turn into in a big discount. And after some time it comes out that this is an unofficial holiday of all shopaholics called Black Friday – and this child becomes one of them. Where has the Black Friday originally its roots? The name for Black Friday originated in Philadelphia and during the sixties and seventies of the last century it disseminated to the awareness of the general public. The term Black Friday marked the huge traffic jams on the roads, which caused just Thanksgiving; while millions of Americans travelled to visit relatives.

Although Black Friday isn´t a state officially recognized holiday, many people use it for a long weekend. Approximately twenty states of U.S. have official public holidays for their state government employees, for example California, Nebraska, Texas or Washington. People, who don´t get an official public holiday, unfortunately must be content with classic vacation.

Open shopping mall at six in the morning? Too late!

Previously, it was normal that shops opened and offered huge discounts from six o'clock in the morning. However, after 2000, some stores began to open between four and five o'clock in the morning. And the last three years isn´t unusual that some stores attract customers since midnight or even a few minutes before it!

Black Friday unfortunately cannot do without small skirmishes and violence. That's primarily because a giant queue in front of shopping centers and people, who can´t wait to be inside. They are often willing fight about gaining a discount and probably during this year´s Black Friday it will be the same.

This year Black Friday falls on November 28. And as in previous years, this time millions of people will be waiting in long queues in front of hundreds of shopping malls and crowded stores. But it doesn´t matter if shops are preparing again bigger and bigger discounts. So, are you already as excited as we are?
