Opening is expected next spring
According to recent information, Nordstrom Rack should be open in Pembroke Mall in the spring of 2016, so we still have to wait almost a year. The store should takes up 32500ft², so the waiting would be really worthwhile. Sears currently owns the area on which the Nordstrom Rack would grow - but Sears is reducing its store and clearing some space to a new tenant.
However, in the summer of last year, some speculations had arisen that Nordstrom plans to open its next store in Richmond. The reason for these speculations was the plotting store Nordstrom on plans to project of West Broad Marketplace. Speculations had remained speculation (at least for now) and a new Nordstrom Rack will appear in Virginia Beach!
Nordstrom is an upscale fashion retailer founded in 1901 and currently operates 116 full-line stores and 100 Nordstrom Racks. It focuses on selling not only clothes, but also shoes, jewelry, handbags and cosmetics. In 2010, Nordstrom was named by Fortune magazine as the 53rd best company for which people can currently work.
