Pre-Christmas discounts? Start since Black Friday!
Thanksgiving Day symbolizes the beginning of the Christmas shopping frenzy. Because the following day is already several decades called Black Friday - the most important day for all shopaholics across the U.S. There is perhaps no store, which in this day doesn´t offer discounts and special promotions for their customers. And a lot of stores open just after midnight and attract customers which are anxious for cheap shopping.
Pre-Christmas shopping frenzy is a phenomenon across America for many decades. Shops are preparing for it many weeks in advance and often already at the end of October, after Halloween, people can find the first signs of Christmas decorations inside them. Discounts during the four weeks before Christmas are significant, but don´t reach such intensity as those on Black Friday.

Wait for the best discounts until after Christmas
Other interesting sales connected with Christmas coming during the Christmas holidays or after them. A lot of retail chains and small boutiques are waiting for Christmas Day and then drastically reduce prices and people pile into shops. There is even a fairly large group of Americans who don´t hesitate to sacrifice the traditional atmosphere of the Christmas tree for saving money - they wait with buying gifts until the day after Christmas, when stores push prices down and buy cheap goods. Subsequently they give family and friends these goods as a Christmas present.
After Christmas sales are often a matter of about two weeks - the most significant are during the first five to six days after Christmas Day and lasts until to about the end of the first week of January.
One interesting thing at the end: in 2006, the Christmas spending of average American family were about 1,700 dollars and a year from year it´s growing.
