The HEB was founded in 1905 and has over 340 stores in 150 communities. HEB runs stores in Texas and in northern Mexico. The HEB Company is fully named The HEB Grocery Company (and is stylized as a HEB) and it is often known as H-E-B Grocery Stores. In the assortment of hundreds of stores, not only in Texas but also in Mexico, can be found bakery, dairy and frozen foods as well as pharmacy, meat, seafood and of course general grocery. In addition, the company also provides services such as auto health, utilities or ticket sales. The H-E-B company was founded in 1905 in Texas and in the 50s the first H-E-B supermarket was opened. In 1997, the sales activities of the company expanded into Mexico. In 2010 the company was announced as 25th largest retailer in the United States and in 2011 it was even included in the list of Forbes magazine as the 12th largest privately held company.
