Plaza Carolina is Caribbean's second largest mall with about 1.2 million square feet located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Plaza Carolina opened in 1978 and in 2004 was acquired by Simon Property Group Inc. The mall features more then 240 stores and is anchored by JC Penney, Sears, Best Buy, the largest TJ Maxx store on the island, and a two-story Forever 21.  The mall is home to retailers like Victoria’s Secret  (the second store in Puerto Rico), Express, Aldo Shoes, Journeys, La Gran Via, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Babbages, Charlotte Russe, The Children's Place, popular stateside footwear store DSW Shoes, Chili's , PacSun, Radio Shack, Spencers, Sony Store, Robert Wayne Shoes, Center Court Sports, Ultra Diamonds, Vitamin World, Tous, Walgreens, World Foot Locker, Gordon's Jewelers and man others. Vans and Novus belong between the newest tenants at Plaza Carolina. Sports Authority and Men’s Wearhouse, one of the largest specialty retailers of men’s apparel in North America, opened stores in the Plaza Carolina Mall in 2014. 

An amusement center for kids, Just for Fun, opened its doors as well in 2014. The shopping center also features the first Designer Shoe Warehouse store, and the first Beta Book Café, a Spain-based bookstore/café chain. The food court takes place on the second level and satisfies the tastes of all shoppers with dining options including El Mesón, Hot Potato, El Arrocito con…, Taco Bell, Taco Maker, Panda Express, Starbuck's Cafe, Charley’s Subs Grill, Asian bistro Basil Tha and many more. In 2012 the shopping centre underwent a multimillion dollar renovation including a new central atrium and fountain area, new flooring and ceiling finishes, modernized bathrooms, as well as a remodeled Food Court and Information and Customer Service Center. The mall is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The opening hours may vary through the year.
